This is a first draft of a book illustration. The client knew he wanted a cloud that had a snake shape in it in reference to a portentous snake in the book, a snake which is cobra-like despite appearing in the American Southwest desert. The illustration has met approval but another element is requested — a mesquite tree in the foreground. The updated illustration we be shared here when it is complete!
